Mary Walters is president of Great Garden Plants, Inc. (www.GreatGardenPlants.com) a photograph-rich, on-line shopping site offering hundreds of great perennials, shrubs and ground covers.  Mary and her business partner, Chris Hansen, co-founded Great Garden Plants, Inc. during the in the summer of 2006 as a result of their shared passion for the gardening industry and in response to what gardeners need and want. As a photographer for over 20 years, Mary extended her love for horticultural images into Image Botanica, LLC, a business she has owned for 4 years.  An on-line digital stock photography company specializing in horticultural and botanical images Image Botanica (www.imagebotanica.com) serves horticultural and corporate marketing firms, horticultural companies, national magazines and book publishing firms, trade publications, media publications and advertising agencies.  In addition to Image Botanica and her experience co-creating consumer-based gardening websites (www.perennialresource.com and www.designerdayliy.com) has allowed Mary to explore the nuances of developing informational sites and well prepared her for her co-launching www.GreatGardenPlants.com. As a horticultural marketing specialist in the wholesale industry, Mary has been involved in the perennial gardening industry for decades.  For over 25 years, she was Vice President, Marketing for Walters Gardens, Inc. in Zeeland, Michigan, a wholesale perennial grower that ships throughout the United States and Canada serving garden centers, nurseries, wholesale nurseries, landscapers, mail order companies.  During her tenure at Walters Gardens, she led and developed marketing strategies, business opportunities, new product development, and marketing collaterals. Mary Walters has achieved notoriety as a lecturer for professional associations, garden clubs, and master gardeners.  As a gardener and photographer, her home garden was featured on the front cover of 2004 Garden Gate Magazine which included a two-page garden profile as well as having received the 2005 Holland Area Beautiful Award.
